Police officer crashes into BDF soldier after her car has mechanical problems

By Benjamin Flowers: There was a road traffic accident on the Philip Goldson Highway yesterday involving a Ladyville police officer and a Belize Defence Force soldier, but both parties managed to survive without major injury.

Forty-nine-year-old Edwina Armstrong reported that she was driving en route to Belize City around 7:30 a.m. when she began having mechanical problems. She ended up crashing into the vehicle in front of her, being driven at the time by 44-year-old soldier Charles Galvez, along with his wife and daughter, a minor.

Both vehicles were damaged in the incident and the passengers in Galvez’s vehicle both complained of pain in the neck and back.

Police are investigating.
