Belize Weather: A hot week ahead

Seasonally hot and dry weather prevails according to the National Meteorological Service.

Skies will be mostly sunny today and clear to partly cloudy tonight, with little or no rainfall expected except for a chance of an isolated thunderstorm developing near the western border over the mountains. A heat advisory is in effect; residents, especially those in inland areas, are advised to stay hydrated and avoid outdoor activity as much as possible.

High temperatures will hit 90 degrees along the coast, 98 degrees inland and 82 degrees in the hills. Tonight’s low temperatures are 81 degrees along the coast; 76 degrees in inland areas and 70 degrees in the hills.

Winds are easterly at five to 15 knots. The sea will be choppy with waves of three to five feet.

Tides will be low at 10:14 this morning and 11:48 this evening and high at 4:07 this afternoon. Sunset occurs at a quarter past six this evening and sunrise on Tuesday is at 5:22 in the morning.

The weather continues warm and mostly dry on Tuesday.
