By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Eleven-year-old Miah Cerrillo told CNN that she smothered blood on herself and played dead during the attack at her school in Uvalde, Texas on Tuesday that left 19 students and 2 teachers dead.

Miah said that the class was watching a movie in a classroom with teachers, Eva Mireles and Irma Garcia when they were notified that a shooter was in the building.

As one of the teachers went to lock the door, the shooter was already there and shot out the window in the door.

Miah says that it happened so fast and that the gunman made eye contact with one of the teachers and said: “Goodnight” then killed her. “That was when he opened fire on the other teacher and students”.

The gunman then went into another classroom and Miah remembers hearing screams.

Fearing for her life, Miah says that she put her hands in the blood of one of her friends that was dead beside her and smothered the blood over herself to play dead.

The 11-year-old survivor recounted that horrific day to CNN amidst tears.

The family has since started a GoFundMe page to raise money to help pay for therapy.
