By BBN Staff: Actor Johnny Depp was awarded the victory in his defamation suit against ex-wife actress, Amber Heard in a decision read at the Fairfax County Courthouse in Virginia, USA. He was awarded $15 Million in damages.

The verdict was read moments ago following a slight delay as the jury had submitted the verdict without completing the damages section of the form. Heard was awarded $2 Million in damages on a single point.

Depp was not present during the reading of the verdict due to prior business engagements. Amber Heard was present in the courtroom as the verdict was read.

The trial lasted six weeks and saw many witnesses from both sides make bombshell claims about both actors. Depp’s fans, as they have done throughout the trial, gathered outside the court ahead of the verdict. Fans cheered at news that Depp had won.
