Minor held in Dangriga murder of “Culu” Coote

By Aaron Humes: A minor has been detained by police in relation to a murder on Monday night in the center of Dangriga Town.

Robert Michael Coote, 31, alias “Culu” or “Kunku Man,” was found shot on St Vincent Street around 8:00 p.m. in front of a Chinese gaming store. Coote was taken to the Southern Regional Hospital for treatment but died about an hour later.

Police say the fisherman and noted artist was approached by an unknown man in a black long-sleeved hoodie and sweater and blue short pants who shot him several times.

The murder remains under investigation. As we previously reported, Coote was a member of the musician community in the Culture Capital as a punta artist and several colleagues and collaborators have paid tribute to him.
