By BBN Staff: A man from Benque Viejo del Carmen was charged by Police after 18 small transparent tubes with suspected cocaine was found near his residence.
On Thursday, July 14th police conducted a special operation on the banks of the Mopan River between the Succotz Ferry and Benque Viejo. As part of the operation a search warrant was served to 22-year-old Frederick Rodriguez but nothing incriminating was found during the search.
Rodriguez was then escorted to an area where he was seen placing an object. There police found a clear bottle containing the 18 tubes with suspected cocaine. The suspected cocaine was weighed and amounted to 12 grams.
Rodriguez, a Belizean resident of Riverside Street in Benque, was formally arrested and charged with possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply.
