Pope Francis appoints new Apostolic Nuncio to several Caribbean nations

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Pope Francis has appointed Archbishop Santiago de Wit Guzmán as the Roman Catholic Church’s diplomatic representative to several Caribbean countries, Loop reports. 

Archbishop Wit Guzman will be the Apostolic Nuncio to Trinidad and Tobago, Antigua and Barbuda, Belize, Grenada, the Cooperative Republic of Guyana, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname, and Apostolic Delegate to the Antilles.

Archbishop Wit Guzman will reside at The Vatican’s diplomatic residence in Port of Spain.

He was the apostolic nuncio in the Central African Republic and Chad.

He has represented the Roman Catholic Church in The Netherlands, Paraguay, Egypt, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
