Belize Weather: Will showers dampen Carnival jam?

By Breaking Belize News Staff: Another rainy day has been forecast as according to the National Meteorological Service, skies will be mostly cloudy today, and cloudy at times tonight, with periods of rain, some showers and thunderstorms occurring mainly over northern and central areas this morning, decreasing in the afternoon and mainly redeveloping over the South tonight.

High temperatures will reach 85 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, 88 degrees over inland areas and 78 degrees in the hills. Tonight’s low temperatures will be 78 degrees along the coast, 72 degrees inland and 66 degrees in the hills.

Winds are easterly to southeasterly at 10 to 20 knots. Seas will be moderate with waves of four to six feet.

A small craft caution is in effect for gusty winds and locally rough seas, especially near heavy showers and thunderstorms. A flood watch is in effect for possible localized flooding in low-lying and flood-prone areas, especially in the north and center.

Tides will be low at 8:34 this morning and 7:52 this evening and high at 2:40 this afternoon. Sunset this evening is at five minutes past six, and sunrise on Saturday morning at 5:39.

For Carnival Saturday, skies will be cloudy in spells with a few showers and isolated thunderstorms mainly over central and northern inland areas, decreasing in the afternoon before redeveloping mainly over southern coastal areas on Saturday night.
