By Rubén Morales Iglesias: “Contra viento y marea (Against all odds),” says Benque Viejo United about their hard test against National Subchampions Altitude on Saturday night in Benque as the second round in the Premier League of Belize’s (PLB) 2022-23 Opening Championship kicks off.

The match is set for 7:30 at the Edmund Marshalleck Stadium in Benque Viejo del Carmen tonight.

Benque is trying to improve on the four points that have them in the seventh position in Belize’s top flight league while Altitude, who has 15, is intent on regaining the top spot they relinquished to Verdes FC due to a goal difference last weekend.

Altitude is hurting after letting up against Port Layola last weekend in Belize City. The Southern club played that game against the Belize City side without their top goal-getter and League top scorer Colombian Andrés Orozco who was suspended due to yellow cards accumulation. However, Orozco will be suiting up tonight against Benque Viejo United making the match all the more difficult for the home side.

Benque United are hoping their Argentine addition Ayrton Sisa finally comes alive for them against Altitude.

The match promises to be a good one tonight in Benque.
