Port Layola host champions Verdes in the hottest Sunday game in the PLB

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Port Layola host Verdes in the most attractive game today in the Premier League. Port might be in the sixth position but after beating the subchamps Altitude last week, they are now aiming at bringing down the undefeated champions Verdes.

Verdes for their part not only want to regain the top spot they lost yesterday to Altitude but also has no intention of dropping their undefeated record.

The match is slated for 4:00 pm at the MCC Grounds in Belize City.

Wagiya and San Pedro Pirates are also playing a top game at Dangriga’s Carl Ramos Stadium at 4:00 pm. Both are tied at 11 points with Wagiya in third place and San Pedro in fourth. Today’s battle could very well break the tie. That’s the intention of both clubs.

The other game features Progresso at home against the Bandits at the People’s Stadium in Orange Walk. A win for Progresso, who have ten points and are in fifth place, could push them up the standings depending on the other scores. Bandits, who are at the bottom with only one point, will do well with any positive score, a draw, or a win.

The match is also slated for 4:00 pm.
