Shyne, Faber, Tracey and the UDP, Prosser Fertilizer send sympathies on passing of Wilmot Simmons

By Hugh O’Brien: The United Democratic Party (UDP), its Party Leader Shyne Barrow and a number of senior party officials and representatives are pouring out condolences and sympathies to the family of Wilmot Simmons. Simmons died earlier on Tuesday after having been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

The UDP hailed Simmons as a “Stalwart”. “Wilmot was an avid supporter of the United Democratic Party and the Party thanks him for his commendable service to the UDP and Belize”, said the Party.

UDP Party Leader and Leader of the Opposition also expressed his sympathies and thanked Wilmot for the service he rendered to the UDP. “May your soul continue a peaceful journey,” stated Shyne Barrow.

“Words cannot express our sorrow at the news that our good friend and UDP stalwart, Wilmot Simmons, has passed. Deepest condolences to the entire family. R.I.P, Brother. Your passing has left an empty, unfillable space in the UDP family,” noted Patrick Faber in a social media post.

Tracey Taegar-Panton penned “We will meet again on the other side of Jordon my brother and friend. We loved you, all of you at all times. We shared a lot: the good and the bad; the happy and the sad; the peaks and the valleys. It was quite the journey, the parts we shared. Your tenacity and zest for life were contagious. May the Choir of Angels welcome you home with songs of rejoicing. You have finished the race. Heartfelt Condolences to Your Family and all those whose lives you touched with your infectious personality. Rest Easy Wilmot. May God’s Perfect Peace Be Still.”

And Prosser Fertilizer and Agrotech, his life-long employer, said “our friend and long standing employee is now resting in peace and will be surely missed by us at Prosser Fertilizer. His dynamic and jovial personality, loyalty and dedication to service of others, made him loved by his coworkers and customers. He leaves a void among us and someone we will always remember.”
