Man hospitalized after violent attack in Benque Viejo

By Breaking Belize News Staff; A man in Benque Viejo has been hospitalized after he was violently attacked by another man with a piece of board.

Surveillance footage of the brutal attack shows the victim standing by a shop near a bus stop when a man emerged from behind the bus and snuck up on him. The assailant hit the victim in the back of the head causing him to immediately fall to the ground.

The attacker then hit the victim on the head several more times, kicked him in the face, and could be seen saying something to the victim while pointing in his face. The victim was admitted to the hospital with severe head injuries and his condition is unknown at this time.

Police are investigating the incident.
