By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Institute of Archaeology (NICH) has publicly thanked its staff and the volunteers who have assisted them in cleaning the archaeological reserves that were damaged by Hurricane Lisa, which hit Belize last week Wednesday.
“The Institute of Archaeology extends a grateful heart to all those who have assisted with the cleanup of archaeological reserves after hurricane Lisa,” said the IA/NICH in a social media post.
“We thank our team of park staff and volunteers for joining in our clean-up initiative to make sure these reserves can be open to the public.
“Of course, safety first.”
The IA/NICH was specific in its appreciation.
“We thank the IA part staff, our admin staff, Chukka, the Northern Tour Guide Association, the Cayo Tour Guide Association, Cayo Cave Tour Guide Association, Mr. Ignacio Lino Exotic Shore, Excursion, Avilas, Nohoch Che’en Tour Guides, and vendors for all your help,” said the post.
