By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Belize’s Chief Agriculture Officer Dr Victoriano Pascual has been selected as a panelist at the 27th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 27) in Egypt.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security, and Enterprise (MAFSE), Dr Pascual is at the Sharm el-Sheikh International Convention Centre attending the COP 27 that is being hosted by the Arab Republic of Egypt from November 6-18, 2022.

“Dr. Pascual is selected to be one of the panelists for the Nature-based Solution (NbS) for improving soil health and water security on the 9th of November 2022,” said MAFSE.

The topic of the discussion is ‘Partnering for nature – based solutions – Mangroves and Climate Change Resilience Projects implemented by Rotary’.

“This event will position Nature-based Solution as an important action for building a climate-resilient agriculture sector and provide an opportunity to discuss the successful use of Nature-based Solution for improving soil health and water security in the agricultural sector, and national policy design and actions for increasing the use of NbS to enhance climate resilience,” said MAFSE.
