By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Ministry of Human Development, Families and Indigenous Peoples’ Affairs and the Ministry of the Public Service, Constitutional and Political Reform and Religious Affairs are holding an Evening of Garifuna Culture in the capital. The evening of entertainment will be held at Independence Plaza in Belmopan on Thursday, November 17, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, two days prior to the celebration of Garifuna Settlement Day.

According to a flyer produced by the two ministries, the Evening of Garifuna Culture will feature Nuru and Josh Arana, the ‘Jankunu’ dance, a Punta competition, a Best Dressed Garifuna Outfit competition, and more.

The organizers said sahou, a Garifuna cassava porridge, will be served.
