Port Layola lead Premier League of Belize’s Closing Championship

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Though three clubs won their first match in the opening week of the Premier League of Belize’s Closing Championship and picked up their first three points, Port Layola are the leaders based on goal difference.

Port wiped out Wagiya 5-0, while the San Pedro Pirates dispatched Progresso 2-0 and Benque Viejo United shocked defending champions Altitude 1-0.

Verdes and Bandits drew 0-0 on Wednesday night in Belmopan and follow in fourth and fifth places with one point each.

Altitude, Progresso, and Wagiya trail in sixth, seventh, and eighth places respectively without a point.
