International News: U.S. Treasury department sanctions Sinaloa cartel’s ‘El Flaco’

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: The United States Treasury Department has reportedly sanctioned Sinaloa Cartel’s drug trafficker, Jose Angel Rivera Zazueta, a.k.a. “El Flaco,” Latin Post reports.

Zazueta is accused of acquiring chemicals in China to send to Mexico for use in manufacturing narcotics.

Zazueta has been added to the U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control’s Specially Designated Nationals list or SDN.

Other associates of the Sinaloa cartel, Mexican Nelton Santiso Aguila and Guatemalan Jason Antonio Yang Lopez were also sanctioned.

The Sinaloa Cartel is considered the top drug trafficker to the United States, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) notes.
