Taiwan’s generosity recognized: Ambassador Candice Pitts expresses gratitude for Hurricane Lisa relief efforts

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On February 3, 2023, Belize’s Ambassador to Taiwan, Dr. Candice A. Pitts attended a donation ceremony towards Belize’s Hurricane Lisa relief efforts, hosted at the Legislative Yuan.

The donation ceremony, entitled “Love to Belize, We are siblings” was organized by Brandon Chang, Secretary General of Happy Home World Alliance International Taiwan (HHWAIT) and Mike Hung, Chairman of Africa Industry Development Association.

Through the donation drive, St. Dominic Catholic High School contributed NT $300,000.

Twenty-nine donors also contributed and items included a 20 feet container of essential supplies including clothes, medical supplies, and food.

Hung and some other donors also gave laptops and tablets.

On behalf of the government and people of Belize, Ambassador Pitts expressed profound gratitude to Brandon Chang, Mike Hung, the family of HHWAIT, each and every donor, and the students of St. Dominic Catholic High School and Nanhua University for standing in solidarity with Belize during our time of need.
