Ministers of Finance of region gather for IDB meeting in Belize

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Prime Minister John Briceño says that Ministers of Finance of our region have gathered for the Governors of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) meeting in Belize.

“I held bilateral meetings with the delegations of Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Guatemala, headed by their countries’ Bank Governors who are their Ministers of Finance.

I also held a brief meeting with and congratulated the newly elected President of the IDB, Dr. Ilian Goldfyan,” the Prime Minister said.

The Governors’ Meeting began on February 20 and runs through to February 23, 2023.

Discussions will include regional and national challenges of Central America and avenues the IDB can utilize to assist by funding solutions.

Central among the issues are climate change, mitigation and adaptation.
