Special Envoy visits Garden of Hope Foundation Linkou Service Center in Taiwan

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Special Envoy for the Development of Families and Children, Rossana Briceno visited Taiwan from February 14 to 17, 2023.

During her visit, Briceno met with representatives of the Garden of Hope Foundation Linkou Service Center.

“I was impressed with the wholistic empowering assistance offered by the Garden of Hope Foundation Linkou Service Center. The center offers a fully wrap-around assistance to women who are survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. The services range from education to employment training, counseling and psychosocial support to assistance with child care and balancing their role as caregivers for children as they reenter the workforce,” the Special Envoy noted.

The programme offers social assistance living opportunities as the services help women to rebuild their lives, avoid the dangers of slipping into poverty, while empowering them with the ability to self-determine for their lives in dignity.

“The Foundation and Center is an example that we can certainly investigate for replication in Belize as we work with women survivors of gender based violence offering the needed assistance,” Briceno added.
