Man fined over $100 for less than a gram of crack cocaine

By Breaking Belize News Staff: A Belize City man was fined this week after police found less than a gram of crack cocaine on him.

Fifty-seven-year-old Anthony Hope appeared in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court on Monday, charged with a single count of possession of controlled drugs in relation to .34 grams of crack cocaine.

He pleaded guilty to the charge and was fined $100 plus $5 cost of court which he must pay by May 14 or he will spend a month in prison for default,

Police found the drugs on him during a search conducted on Saturday, March 11.
