By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Mexican President, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador said today that his Government will not ban popular Chinese-owned TikTok.
According to Reuters, during a conference held today, the Mexican President pledged “complete freedom” when asked about the app.
Meanwhile, the U.S. is moving closer to ban the popular dancing app.
In addition, U.S. lawmakers continue to call on the U.S. government to ban the app citing security concerns such as content censorship, data collection, and the harm it can cause on children’s mental health.
China’s Foreign Ministry says that the U.S. has not provided any evidence that TikTok is a threat to national security.
Canada has also implemented a ban on TikTok from government issued devices citing privacy concerns.
