39-year-old Roel Moguel died in Holy Thursday accident on George Price Highway

By Aaron Humes: 39-year-old Roel Edel Moguel, a sales consultant of Orange Walk Town, has been identified as the victim of a traffic collision Thursday afternoon near Mile 28 on the George Price Highway.

According to truck driver Ronald Hiron of Belmopan, he was driving a white Freightliner tractor truck heading toward Belmopan just around 1 p.m. along with a co-worker when he saw a Ford Ranger pick-up truck going in the opposite direction that suddenly swerved into his lane.

Hiron said he swerved right to avoid a collision but could not avoid impact with the left front side of the truck which caused him to lose control of the truck and run off the highway. Moguel was killed on impact.

Police continue their investigations and have issued a notice of intended prosecution to Hiron.
