Under-20 Belize Women’s National Team lose 3-0 to Guatemala on Monday in 2023 Concacaf Women’s Under-20 Championship Qualifiers

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Belize fell to Guatemala 3-0 on Monday in the 2023 Concacaf Women’s Under-20 Championship Qualifiers at the Estadio Nacional de Fútbol in Managua, Nicaragua.

Paula Amaya (12′), Dina Polanco (30′), and Flor Perla (74′) scored for Guatemala who also had a goal ruled offside and missed a penalty kick.

Costa Rica smashed St Lucia 9-0 in the other Group E match on Monday.

Costa Rica lead the group with six points followed by Nicaragua and Guatemala with three, and St Lucia and Belize with zero.

The loss was the Under-20 Belize Women’s National Team’s (BWNT) second after stumbling 13-0 to Costa Rica on Saturday while Nicaragua beat Guatemala 3-1.

2023 Concacaf Women’s Under-20 Championship Qualifiers at the Estadio Nacional de Fútbol in Managua, Nicaragua.

In their third match, the BWNT will challenge Nicaragua at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, April 19. The BWNT closes the round robin on Friday, April 21, against St Lucia at 4:00 pm.
