International News: Russian air strikes kill 19 in Ukraine

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Officials confirmed that Russian air strikes killed 19 people in Ukraine today.

According to the BBC, 17 people including a child were killed in the attack in Uman.

A woman and her 3-year-old daughter were also killed in Dnipro.

Russian officials say that the military had targeted Ukrainian army reserve units with the strikes.

In Uman, the air strikes hit a 9-story apartment building causing panic and fear among residents.

Rescuers are still at the site while nearby residents were trying to fix damages on their homes.

Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky noted that the apartment block was among 10 residential buildings that were damaged in Uman.

Zelensky said that the attacks showed further international action needed to be taken against Russia.
