Football Federation of Belize congratulates Belizean player Angelo Cappello for performance in the Isuzu FA Trophy final in England

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Football Federation of Belize (FFB) this week congratulated Belizean player Angelo Cappello for his brilliant performance in the Isuzu FA Trophy final at Wembley Stadium in London, where he helped FC Halifax Town clinch a historic victory and become champions for the second time in seven years.

The FA Trophy is an annual football championship for teams at levels 5–8 of the English football league system. The 2022-23 FA Trophy final on Sunday was the culmination of the 54^th season.

Cappello is a Belize Men’s National Team attacking midfielder who plays for Halifax Town in the Vanarama National League in the fifth tier of English football. On Sunday, he played 73 minutes, performing rather well in his team’s 1-0 win over Gateshead.

The FFB said Cappello “showcased his exceptional skills and made a significant impact on the team’s success throughout the game. His presence in dangerous areas of the field and his involvement in the build-up play were instrumental in the team’s performance.”

The FFB went on to say that Cappello, who is from Cayo, has shown his immense potential and added value to the team’s achievements.

“As Angelo continues his journey in England, representing both his club and his home country, we have no doubt that he will achieve even greater heights in his future career,” the FFB said.

“We congratulate him on his remarkable achievements and wish him the very best in all his future endeavors.”

Cappello recently joined FC Halifax Town at the beginning of the 2022-23 season.
