Benque Viejo del Carmen bids farewell to outgoing Flor de la Feria Shivany Cunil, prepares for new queen to be decided tonight Saturday

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: As Belize’s westernmost town, Benque Viejo del Carmen, prepares for its annual municipal fair in mid-July, on Saturday the town bids farewell to outgoing Flor de la Feria Shivany Cunil in a night of celebration and prepares to welcome a new queen who will represent the town’s beauty and culture during the next year.

“Join us as we bid farewell and express our gratitude to our outgoing queen, Señorita Flor de la Feria 2022 Shivany Cunil, for her incredible reign,” said the Flor de la Feria – Benque Viejo del Carmen Facebook page.

“Her grace, dedication, and impact have been truly remarkable. We invite you to witness the crowning of a new queen and embrace the beauty and empowerment of the 2023 Señorita Flor de la Feria.”

The new Señorita Flor de la Feria will be decided tonight at the annual pageant that precedes the Benque Fiesta at La Cancha Marshalleck starting at 7:30 pm.

Three lovely candidates are competing for the crown: Cheri Contreras, Joselin Garcia, and Jazlyne Santiago. Who will be the next Señorita Flor de la Feria?

Entrance costs $10 for adults and $5 for children.

DJ Piju’s musical vibrations will close off the night with a dance to celebrate the new Señorita Flor de la Feria.
