Gilbert Ryan Wade remanded to prison for allegedly being member of Southside Gang

By Breaking Belize News Staff: Gilbert Ryan Wade, 31, of a Pen Road address in Belize City has been remanded to the prison on a charge of being a member of a gang.

Wade appeared unrepresented in the Magistrate’s Court in Belize City this morning where he was read a single charge of being a member of a gang. He is accused of being a member of the Southside Gang (SSG), which is involced in serious criminal activity.

Wade pleaded not guilty to the charge but since the offence falls under Section 16 of the Crime Control & Criminal Justice Act, bail could not be granted at the lower court and Wade was remanded into custody at the Belize Central Prison until September 18, 2023.
