By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Belize Powerlifting Team is on its way to the Cayman Islands on Thursday to compete in the 20th Annual North American Powerlifting Championships (NAPC).

The NAPC will be held from August 6-12.

The team is leaving in small groups to the Cayman Islands.

The NAPC were recently given Belize Powerlifting jackets by the National Sports Council in the Ministry of Sports.

The team, according to Audrey Matura, member of the Belize Powerlifting Association, is 23 strong, including 18 athletes.

As opposed to last year when the team was poorly supported, Matura said that this year the team has several sponsors.
