Senior citizen’s decomposing body found at home in Cotton Tree

By Aaron Humes: A postmortem examination will be conducted on the body of 75-year-old Belizean-American retiree Joseph Huling Jacobs of Cotton Tree, Cayo District, to determine if he came to foul play.

His body was found shirtless and face down outside his residence in the village earlier today in an advanced state of decomposition.

According to a neighbor, Jacobs had lived alone for some time and had trouble with his right hip, for which he was seeking hospital treatment. The neighbor said she had last seen him on Sunday afternoon.

Police investigations are underway pending completion of an autopsy on Jacobs.
