Heated basketball game ends in stabbing

By Breaking Belize News Staff: A 17-year-old teenager is in police custody after allegedly stabbing another minor during a heated basketball game on Jump Street in Belize City.

The incident reportedly occurred on September 28 in the Jump Street area of Belize City on a basketball court where a group of young men normally play. Around 5:00 p.m., two minors got into an altercation when the 17-year-old allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed another minor, who is 14 years old.

The 14-year-old boy left and went home before he was rushed to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital. One of the stab wounds was reportedly deep. He was treated and released to go home.

The other boy is in police custody pending charges.
