Teenager who recently walked from a murder at age 17 now accused of Trenton Webster’s murder

By Aaron Humes: 18-year-old Dorian Anthony was in court today to be read charges of murder in the death of Trenton Webster, 42, on Rasta Street last Thursday.

Anthony was not made to plea as the offense is to be tried, should sufficient evidence be found, in the High Court. Bail was denied and he was remanded to the Central Prison until his next court date on December 28.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Hilberto Romero, Officer Commanding Eastern Division, on Monday detailed what police know of the circumstances surrounding Webster’s killing and Anthony’s apprehension: “Information is that Trenton Webster came out of his house to go to the store when he was approached by a lone gun man who fired several shots towards his direction causing his fatal injuries. …the deceased and Dorian Anthony had an issue over some loud music… [in] a prior argument that happened two days before the shooting incident. We were looking for him here in Belize [City], he was not found and then we expanded the search and he was found in Roaring Creek. We got information he had some associates.”

Anthony turned 18 on September 22, but while a minor he was charged along with 19-year-old Adrian Hernandez for the murder of 61-year-old Flowers and attempted murder of Dusseldore Waight in December 2022 on Racecourse Street in Belize City. Police at that time believed they were looking for associate Kyle Latchman, who has been missing for several months now and is presumed dead.

In July, the two walked when the prosecution reportedly conceded they did not have enough evidence to proceed with a murder charge against either youth.
