By Rubén Morales Iglesias: In the fight between the two last place teams, Wagiya had the Bandits kneeling and all tied up in the first half whipping them twice to lead 2-0 but things changed in the second half when the Bandits managed to untie themselves and started pounding the Griga boys who salvaged some honour in the end to pull off a 3-3 draw.

Wagiya, who had decided earlier in the week to take their back match home game near the wolves den at the FFB Stadium in Belmopan (the Bandits home is the Isidoro Beaton Stadium next door), were very much in control in the first 45.

Levi Pixabaj got things going when he blasted the net in the 11th minute minute for the home side to take the 1-0 lead. Ghanaian Kofi Nnadi then made it 2-0 in the 40th minute.

Wagiya were enjoying every minute of it until the 71st when the Belmopan Bandits took over with a brutal surge and in 13 minutes manhandled Wagiya and put them upside down.

Colombian Victor Cortez started the Bandits’ comeback when he scored in the 71st minute. His compatriot Humberto Valenzuela equalled the match at 2-2 in the 79th and Denmark Casey Jr scored the 3-2 go-ahead goal in the 83rd minute.

But Wagiya were not to be outdone. They rallied back and drew even at 3-3 when Kerdell Diaz tied the game in in the waning moments of the ball game in the 90’+4.

With the 3-3 draw, the Bandits maintained their seventh position with 9 points while Wagiya languish in the cellar with six.
