International News: 10 people dead after heavy snowstorm sweeps across Ukraine

Thousands of people remain without electricity due to the snow storm.

Ten people lost their lives and 23 were injured due to the storm, CNN reports.

Ukraine deployed 1,500 responders who were trying to reach thousands of people in need of rescue.

The storm also hit occupied Crimea, prompting Russian-appointed officials to announce a state of emergency in parts of the peninsula.

Weather experts say that another powerful low-pressure system will hit the country today unleashing rounds of additional heavy snow, wind and rain.
