Minister of Education tours ITVET in Toledo

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Last week, Minister of Education, Culture, Science and Technology Francis Fonseca toured educational institutions in Toledo.

During his visit, Minister Fonseca met with the Board of Directors of the Toledo Institute for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (ITVET).

Minister Fonseca, CEO Dian Maheia and Yolanda Gongora, Chief Education Officer, were all briefed on the ongoing work of the ITVET.

Over the past few years, the Toledo ITVET has seen an increase in the enrolment at that institution which is a testament to the need for the training and skills offered.

“ITVETs are an integral of our education system and our education agenda. The strategic priority area of ‘Maximising Human Capital’ in our BESplan speaks to the need to invest in our ITVETs because they empower their trainees with the practical abilities needed to adapt to an evolving workforce, drive innovation and growth and contribute to our national development,” the Ministry noted.
