Bert Ramos’ vehicle shot at and damaged on Christmas Eve

By Aaron Humes: Police report another shooting incident, although the target was not human but apparently a motor vehicle in the Lord’s Bank area.

On Sunday morning about 4:30 a.m., police responded to calls of shots fired at Edwin Parks Avenue, Lord’s Bank Village, Belize District.

They found a grey Nissan Frontier SUV with several expended shells on the road and what appeared to be two bullet holes to the rear passenger glass window, a bullet hole to front passenger door and a bullet hole to the driver side door.

Police spoke to Bert Ramos, 55, who claimed to be the owner of the said vehicle. According to Ramos he was sleeping with his family inside his house when suddenly he heard several loud bangs that sounded like gunshots. He looked through his window but saw no one and he did not come outside until the arrival of the police and that is when he discovered damage to his vehicle that he parked on the road side front of his house and an apparent bullet hole on the outside wall of his house near top of the front door.

The vehicle is valued at $54,000. Police are investigating.
