Citizen security a priority for next Government, says UDP after January crime spate

By Aaron Humes: The United Democratic Party (UDP) Shadow Cabinet in its recent meeting has identified citizen security as a priority of a future Government.

It notes that there have been three reported murders, several home invasions and eighteen shooting incidents so far in the month of January, identifying restoration of citizen safety as among its goals as the next Government.

In the area of the Judiciary, the grouping also claims there is a continued delay in paying Crown Counsel and Magistrates their salary adjustments and making other promised improvements in the justice system. This caused several instances of industrial action in 2023.

Again, the UDP promises if elected to address the problem.
