By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Survivors FC overpower Lake I 5-2 in the third match of the William Dawson Peace Cup at the MCC Grounds in Belize City on Sunday.

Lake I might have expended too much energy on Saturday in their 3-1 win over Port Layola and paid the price as they were pummeled by Survivors on Sunday.

Knowing that they might run out of steam, Lake I attacked hard in the opening quarter of an hour with the Baptist brothers getting things rolling. Akeem Baptist struck the opener in the 12th minute and Hubert Baptist followed suit one minute later in the 13th minute, putting Survivors ahead 2-0.

Lake maintained their lead until the waning moments of the first half when Cion Augustine scored for Survivors to cut the lead to 2-1. Augustine completed his brace in the 63rd minute while Shemar Gillett increased the lead to 4-2 with his own brace in the 63rd and 84th minutes. Clifford Thomas ensured the 5-2 win with his 77th minute goal.

While the Survivors FC recorded their fourth victory, Lake I suffered their third defeat.
