UDP agrees; Shyne Barrow leads party into next General Elections

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Leader of the Opposition Shyne Barrow enjoys majority support of the UDP and the UDP’s National Party Council (NPC) has agreed to endorse him as leader leading them into the next General Elections. 

A statement from the NPC states “The NPC hereby reaffirms its commitment to the decision of the National Convention on August 13, 2023 to endorse the Party Leader Hon. Dr. Shyne Barrow and the Leadership Executive until the after the next General Elections.”

According to the NPC they will “not entertain any attempt to disturb the decision made by the Nation Convention on August 13, 2023 to proceed with the Party Leader and the Leadership Executive until after the next General Elections”.

Barrow notes that while there were some objections, however, the super majority made the decision.

He expressed that the UDP is moving forward with one leader and as one party, hailing party unity.
