Wagiya SC United punish Santa Elena Strikers 7-1 in NAWL B

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Wagiya SC United defeated the Santa Elena Strikers 7-1 in the National Amateur Women’s League B championship at the Norman Broaster Stadium in San Ignacio on Sunday.

Tenechia Zuniga recorded a hat-trick for Wagiya SC United scoring in the 301, 43’, and 84’. Jessi McLaughlin converted a brace with goals in the 14’ and 74’. The other two came from Jaelin Cacho in the 11’ and Rainelle Moss in the 83’.

The Santa Elena Strikers never gave up and got a consolation goal from Sharine Baki in the 89’.

In the first round on Saturday, April 23, Wagiya had beaten the Strikers 9-0 in Dangriga.

Wagiya now has nine points from six games retaining the third spot, three points shy of the Cayo Dreamers.

The Santa Elena Strikers are in fourth place with three points.
