Belize and Guatemala invited to participate in the Crimea platform

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Emine Dzheppar has invited Belize and Guatemala to participate in the 2nd Crimea Platform summit, Ukrinform reports.

The summit will be held on August 23 virtually.

Dzheppar held virtual meetings with Ava Atzum Arévalo, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Guatemala, and Amalia Mai, Chief Executive Officer for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade, and Immigration of Belize.

Dzheppar told the colleagues about Ukraine’s efforts to counter Russian armed aggression.

“During the talks, special attention was paid to the issue of the international Crimea Platform. I informed my colleagues about the main tasks and areas of activity of this international format, as well as about a number of high-level events that will take place within the framework of the international Crimea Platform in 2022. I renewed the invitation to participate in the online summit of the Crimea Platform on August 23,” Dzheppar stated.

Officials from Guatemala and Belize expressed their support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, including within the framework of international and regional organizations.

The Crimea Platform is a consultation and communication format launched by the President of Ukraine in August 2021 to structure all issues related to the peninsula.

Its purpose is to develop practical approaches to the situation in Crimea and discuss the possibilities of restoration of Ukraine’s sovereignty over it.
