ComPol Chester Williams addresses comical mishap in video of police officers on parade: “Everybody makes mistakes”

By Breaking Belize News Staff: A video began circulating on social media this week of police officers marching at the medal award ceremony in Belmopan, whose movements went into comical disarray after there was some confusion with the marching orders. Tonight Commissioner Chester Williams, took to social media to address the embarrassment.

Williams, via the department’s Public Relations Unit Facebook page issued a statement reminding that everybody makes mistakes.

“It seems that there was a command that was not clear to the Officers on parade. Firstly please let me acknowledge that to err is human. I know that our Officers put a lot of effort in to make today a success and let’s support them and congratulate them for serving our wonderful people and country of Belize. God bless you all,” Williams said.

The officers were on the receiving end of a number of jokes on social media after a number of them looked in the wrong direction when ordered to turn. There were also visible signs of confusion as the officers clumsily tried to regain their form.

The ceremony was held to honor officers who had distinguished themselves in service.
