Deputy Prime Minister Faber in  Azerbaijan for World Heritage Committee meeting

By BBN Staff: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Youth, Sports and Culture, Patrick Faber,  is in Baku, Azerbaijan for the 43rd Session of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) World Heritage Committee.

The 43rd session of the World Heritage Committee is being celebrated under the theme: Building Leadership in Climate Adaptation.

Faber attended the event joining World Heritage Managers, experts in the field of climate change and climate resiliency, and other stakeholders to hold discussions on the expected outcomes of the climate change initiative launched in October 2018.

Faber not only attended the event but gave an address to the committee and a group of international partners on the topic “The Importance of Strategic Vision in a Changing Climate”.

Belize’s Barrier Reef Reserve System will benefit from this initiative, along with the Rock Islands Southern Lagoon (Palau), Lagoons of New Caledonia (France), Ningaloo Coast and the Great Barrier Reef (Australia).
