Woman raped by BDF soldier on Arenal Road, Cayo

By BBN Staff: A soldier of the Belize Defence Force has been detained for rape. At this time his identity remains unknown.

At around 4 o’clock yesterday, he was on duty at a checkpoint on the Arenal Road when the woman pulled up in a taxi.

She exited the taxi and was making her way home when he approached her and demanded sex.

She refused and he raped her in the presence of his two colleagues on duty.

The woman later visited the police station and made a report. At this time she remains hospitalized at the Western Regional Hospital.
