Nine new cases of COVID-19 to start April as two late deaths reported

By Aaron Humes: Entering the weekend, Belize has 202 active cases of COVID-19 countrywide, after nine new cases were reported today, counterbalanced by 38 recoveries.

The cases were reported in Belize City (two), San Pedro Town (two), Corozal Town, San Felipe, Orange Walk District, and Blackman Eddy, San Martin, Belmopan, and Santa Elena Town, Cayo District.

116 samples are under investigation.

Two new deaths were reported; however, both happened in February. They were of a male and female in Corozal and Orange Walk Districts respectively. This lifted the total number of deaths to 656. Two persons are hospitalized with the virus. In both cases, one is unvaccinated and the other fully vaccinated.
