Teachers and Public Servants receive salary increase

Wednesday, June 17th 2015. BMG: A government press release was sent yesterday afternoon to the media announcing that the promised 8% increase for public officers and teachers will be rewarded in July.

It is retroactive to April, and will cost the public an additional $38 million every year, inclusive of the 6% increase of last year.

Public officers and teachers also qualify for their 2% annual increment on the basis of merit, and additionally, due to the Collective Bargaining Agreement signed between Government of Belize and the unions in February 2014, there will be salary increases for three consecutive years as of 2014.
