Wednesday, July 9, 2014. AARON HUMES Reporting: Late into Tuesday night there were gunshots fired on the Southside of Belize City.

For the third consecutive night, another young man was sent to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, though for now he remains alive.

According to police 31 year old Edwin Flowers, a construction worker and resident of Neal Pen Road was hit in the forehead, left arm and left upper chest by a dark-skinned shooter who emerged from behind some bushes next to Flowers’ home.

At the time of the shooting, Flowers was sitting with his common-law wife and a friend on their veranda.

The shooter, in a grey t-shirt, fired at them, causing Flowers’ injuries.

Nine 9mm expended shells were retrieved from the scene and police investigations continue.
