26 year old commits suicide in Corozal

Monday, June 29, 2015. BMG: Police in Corozal are investigating a suicide report in Xaibe Village. According to authorities, they were called to a home in the rural area of Xaibe where they saw 26 year old Michael Orlando Nicholson hanging from a wooden beam in his home.

Investigations revealed that Nicholson stayed home on Friday afternoon, while his family went to Corozal Town around 2pm. Upon returning home around 5pm that evening, family members made the heart-breaking discovery.

Nicholson’s body was seen hanging, from a beige and blue in color string tied around his neck, to a wooden beam inside his pimento home.

Investigation shows no signs of struggle inside the house, hence no foul play is suspected.

The body of Nicholson was transported to the Corozal Community Hospital where a post mortem examination was conducted and revealed that the cause of his death was asphyxia due to hanging.
