Belmopan woman slapped and shot in bicycle theft

By Chrisbert Garcia: Twenty-two-year-old Rosa Chocoj of the Maya Mopan area in Belmopan, reported to police last night that while riding her bicycle with her siblings on the Central walkway between the Social Security Board and the Civic Center, a male person ran up to her, slapped her in the face, shot her to the right leg with a handgun, then took her bicycle and cellphone before riding off.

The incident occurred at 8:00 p.m. and Chocoj wound was observed by officers when she made a report at 8:10. Police are investigating the incident.
