By BBN Staff: Minister of Tourism, Manuel Heredia Jr. has expressed pubic interest in partnering with the government of Barbados to strengthen the tourism product in both countries.

Heredia told the online publication Barbados Today, that he believes both countries have several areas of opportunity for collaboration.  He said that an airlift from Barbados to Belize, with a possible connection to Cuba,  is one such way that the countries could benefit from a tourism partnership.

“The whole Caribbean is a magnificent market but Barbados is far ahead of us when it comes to development. I believe there are some things that we have to learn from you all, but there are also good things you can learn from us also,” Heredia told Barbados Today.

He added that cooperative destination marketing could be another cooperation agreement, and said he’s already began speaking with Barbados’ Tourism Minister, Richard Sealy, about strengthening the relationship between the two countries.
